If you own a website, it matters! You must understand how to find keywords for your website. Before that, you need to understand how to research keywords. And no, it won’t hurt a bit.
You need not be a computer genius, a hacker, or nerd to learn keywords. Only an open mind and a willingness to follow simple instructions. You can do that!
Before Long, as You Follow Along, Learn to Know the How to Do Keywords Right.
Because I like easy to learn, straightforward instructions I will keep the process of keyword research simple for you. But hey, it only works if you put in the time to follow the instructions.
Are you ready to begin? Good! Because I’ll quickly show you how to Choose the Right Keywords.
I will show you the THREE most important things to do when doing keyword research. Did I say THREE? Yes, I did. These are the only three things that you need to watch for when doing keyword research for your website.
Here they Are:
The Big 3 of Effective Keyword Research
To have my keywords done right, I look for Low COMPETITION. Low competition means it’s easier rank on Google’s first page and that’s where you want to rank. When a keyword has too much competition, I know that I am wasting my time in the larger crowd.
When I look for COMPETITION, I look for a metric call QSR (or Quote Search Results). The tool I use offers QSR of data efficiently, and that tool is Jaaxy. I use Jaaxy for all my keyword research.
QSR determines the EXACT number of competing pages in Google, our REAL competition. I look for a QSR of under 300 or less (that is, 300 competing pages in Google), the closer to ZERO the better.
Now You Know: The first big thing is to keep competition under 300 QSR. Its is a Must!
To have your Keywords Done Right, Your Keyword Must get some TRAFFIC.
My process: If a search term gets over 50 searches per month, I go for it. Yes, 50.
Does that number seem low? Yes, it is low, but that’s not a problem.
These low volume keywords add up when you rank them. The lower competition, moderate traffic keywords are typically more relevant and convert better.
Second Keyword Pillar: Over 50 searches per month
To have Your Keywords Done Right, The third big thing:
Your keywords must make SENSE.
Your keywords need to read easily and make sense in a sentence or in conversation. If they don’t, they are awkward, klunky, like gibberish and just not right. Never Forget!
Your Keywords Must make sense to a human being!
